A staircase is often the first thing you see in a home, and getting it right — the proportions, the timber, the joints — is the kind of craftsmanship Sean takes real pride in. From a full bespoke staircase to fine joinery throughout a property, SD Carpentry & Construction designs, builds and fits across Tavistock, Devon and Cornwall. Every piece is made with a joiner’s precision, so it feels solid underfoot and looks right for years.
WHAT WE TAKE ON
No two staircases are the same, so we start with the space, the style of the house and how you want it to feel. From there we design, build and fit — most of it made by hand in our own workshop.
Because this is carpentry at its core, it’s work we do in-house from start to finish — with no trades to coordinate and one person accountable for every joint.

HOW WE WORK
Every job gets the same approach: careful measuring and a proper template before anything is cut, honest pricing with no nasty surprises, and a tidy site at the end of each day. You’ll deal with Sean directly from the first visit through to sign-off. And because every piece is made and fitted in-house, the fit and finish are held to a standard we’re happy to put our name to.
