Garden Rooms & Timber-Frame Builds in Tavistock, Devon & Cornwall
Garden rooms, studios and timber-frame buildings, built properly — across Devon and Cornwall.
INTRO
A garden room is one of the best ways to add real, usable space to a home — an office, a studio, a gym or a quiet room of your own — without the upheaval of a full extension. SD Carpentry & Construction designs and builds garden rooms and timber-frame buildings across Tavistock, Devon and Cornwall. Because Sean is a qualified carpenter, the frame, the cladding and the finish are all handled with a joiner’s eye — so the building is as sound as it is good-looking, and built to be used all year round.
WHAT WE TAKE ON
Every garden room starts with what you’ll use it for and where it’ll sit, so we plan it around you before anything is built. From there we can handle as much or as little as you need — often the whole job, from base to final finish.
For the parts that need other trades — electrics, insulation and any plumbing — we bring in trusted local specialists and coordinate everything, so it’s one team and one point of contact.
Work we regularly take on includes:
● Garden rooms, studios and home offices
● Timber-frame buildings of every size
● Insulated, wired and ready to use year-round
● Cladding, roofing and weatherproofing
● Bases and groundworks, coordinated
● Windows, doors and internal fit-out
● Summerhouses, workshops and outbuildings
HOW WE WORK
Every job gets the same approach: proper preparation and a solid base before the frame goes up, honest pricing with no nasty surprises, and a site left clean at the end of each day. You’ll deal with Sean directly from the first visit through to sign-off — no call centres, no being passed around. And because the business is carpenter-led, the timber work and finish that make a building feel properly made are done in-house, to a standard we’re happy to put our name to.
WHERE WE WORK
Based at our workshop in Tavistock, we build garden rooms and timber-frame projects right across Devon and Cornwall — including Okehampton, Yelverton, Plymouth, Callington, Launceston, Gunnislake and the villages in between. Not sure if you’re in our patch? Just ask.
