SD Carpentry & Construction covers West Devon and East Cornwall from a workshop in Tavistock. The towns below are where we work most weeks, and the useful thing to know is this: whoever quotes your job is the person who turns up, does it, and signs it off. Tavistock — our home town
SD Carpentry is based in Tavistock, and we work right across West Devon and East Cornwall. From fitted kitchens and staircases to garden rooms, extensions and full renovations, we travel to our customers — so wherever you are on the list below, the same person quotes the job, turns up, and finishes it.
We're a small, family-run business, which means you deal with Sean directly from the first phone call through to sign-off. No call centres, no subcontracted strangers.
Devon
Yelverton & Horrabridge — Ten minutes down the road. A common area for garden rooms, home offices and fitted storage.
Okehampton — Regular work across Okehampton and the surrounding villages, including timber-frame builds and general building work.
Bere Alston & Bere Ferrers — The Bere Peninsula is well within our patch for carpentry, joinery and renovation projects.
Mary Tavy, Peter Tavy, Lydford & Brentor — Moorland villages where older stone properties often need careful, sympathetic work rather than a quick fix.
Lamerton, Milton Abbot, Chillaton & Lifton — Rural West Devon, all comfortably within our normal working area.
Whitchurch, Gulworthy & Buckland Monachorum — Local villages we're in and out of regularly.
Plymouth — Including Plympton, Plymstock, Roborough, Derriford and Tamerton Foliot. A short run down the A386 for kitchens, joinery and building work.
Princetown & Dartmoor villages — We're used to working on the moor, including the access and weather that comes with it.
Cornwall
Gunnislake & Calstock — Just over the Tamar and among our closest neighbours. Renovation and carpentry work throughout the Tamar Valley.
Callington & Kelly Bray — Kitchens, fitted furniture, extensions and general building.
Launceston — Regular projects across Launceston and the surrounding villages.
Saltash & Landrake — Easy reach via the A38 for everything from a single staircase to a full renovation.
Liskeard & St Germans — Toward the outer edge of our normal patch, but well worth a call for larger projects.
Stoke Climsland, Luckett & Latchley — Rural East Cornwall, all covered.
How far do we travel?
As a rule we work within about 30 miles of Tavistock, which covers everything listed above and plenty in between. For larger projects — timber-frame builds, garden rooms, full renovations — we're happy to go further afield across Devon and Cornwall.
